About Coven Haus
Who the fuck are you?
I'm Laura, born in '97, mother of 1 beautiful daughter, wife of a hench lesbian, owner of many pets and obviously, the CEO of Coven Haus.
I've been chaotically creative for as long as I can remember. Drawing, painting, decorating shit, upcycling and rearranging my walls once a week.
I grew up drinking cheap vodka in fields with muddy Converse, making decor out of Kerrang magazine for my bedroom walls and wearing the same three Tumblr-inspired outfits on repeat.
Life did its thing and I decided to attack it with paintbrushes. It worked! Having a creative outlet helped me heal hard enough to remember who I was.
My music, wardrobe and career changed with me. I stopped caring about being palatable and started creating things that felt like me again.
Which, naturally, meant making things with a healthy amount of black paint, bad language and occasional magic.
And that's when Coven Haus was born.
Turns out, it was never a phase mom.
What the fuck is Coven Haus?
Coven Haus is an independent dark arts decor shop, based in my little home studio in Cheshire.Â
Which is a fancy way of saying I paint cool shit in my pjs.
The whole concept is built around one thing: Your home should be a reflection of your personality.
We're conditioned from a young age to believe that, to make a house a home, it must be beige and normal. Fuck that. I'm here to tell you that your home is YOUR home - decorate it accordingly!Â
I create things that bring character to your walls and wardrobe. Things that make you smile, laugh, start a conversation or just make you think:Â Fuck, I really like that.
At the end of the day, this is a place where I can make cool shit for cool people - while making a load of besties along the way.
Over time, my customers have become my people. Together we've built this community into the Coven it is today. And I fucking love that for us.
What do you make?
A bit of everything, obviously.
Here you'll find gothic and witchy home décor, prints, canvases, plaques, t-shirts, tote bags, pouches, trinkets, keepsakes and gift sets, alongside custom pieces and commissioned portraits. I know, it's a lot.
I make things for people who, like me, are sick of trying to find things they actually like in normal shops. Especially when you're trying to buy a gift for someone alternative and the internet seems to think their only options are a skull mug or a pair of socks with bats on them.
Don't get me wrong, I fucking love a bat. But we need a few more options for the spooky people.
Most of my designs start with an impulsive idea at 2am. They're hand drawn, hand painted and hand crafted, with a fuck tonne of time, effort and love poured into every single one.
Every item I sell, I love. They're tried, tested and used by myself.
If you can't find what you're looking for on the website, just ask. I'll usually give it a go!
Who is it for?
The weirdos, witches, elder emos, goths, metalheads and most importantly, the beautifully untamed.
To me, being beautifully untamed means being unapologetically yourself. Refusing to make yourself smaller, quieter or more palatable just to fit in. The people who come here are usually the ones who stopped giving a fuck what people thought a while ago.
If you've ever walked into a shop and thought, well that's fucking boring, you're probably in the right place. We make our own rules for décor here.
Maybe your entire house is black and covered in candles (like mine) or maybe you've got one weird little shelf that nobody else understands — I've got you.
I create décor for people who want their homes to feel like an extension of who they are. Just you, surrounded by shit you genuinely fucking love.
Beautiful AND untamed.
What can you expect?
Me, hi.
I'm the designer, the painter, the maker, the packer, the marketer, the photographer, the website manager, the customer service department, the social media manager, the stock checker, the order processor, the accountant, the cleaner, the delivery driver, the quality control department, the IT department, the complaints department and, occasionally, the person standing in the middle of the studio wondering where the fuck I put my scissors.
My daughter makes the bracelets and my wife gets dragged into post office runs. There's no warehouse. No customer service team. No mysterious people behind the scenes. It's just us, doing approx seventeen jobs in between school runs, housework and whatever else is happening that day.
I'll make your stuff, pack it safely and send it out looking like something I'd be excited to receive myself. The packaging is beautiful, intentionally - I like to make sure your unboxing experience is a whole experience.
And I absolutely notice when someone comes back and orders again.
It means more to me than you'll ever know.
And that's Coven Haus.
A little home studio that somehow turned into a whole ass Coven.
I couldn't have made any of this without you and I'm very fucking glad you're here.
Welcome in.
You're in the Coven now.
